May gardening: Transplanting zucchinis, cucumbers and tomatoes
In May I finished transplanting seedlings into the first garden bed and tomatoes into 18 pots.

Garden status 2025-05-15: These are a whole bunch of pumpkin seeds I planted in trays indoors intending to maybe just eat the leaves. But now I decided to plant them in the bed and see if they'll grow some more before eating the leaves.
I love garbanzo beans, and so I wanted to try growing them. I just planted some beans from the ones I cook from the store.

Garden status 2025-05-15: Garbanzo beans are a few inches tall now. I had no idea what to expect these to look like. Pretty cute!

Some other types of beans are coming up as well.

Garden status 2025-05-15: The potatoes are getting pretty big, about 5 weeks after planting them. Beans are just barely growing. Probably should not have tried to transplant them.
Then I built a second garden bed and transplanted all my zucchinis and cucumbers into it.

Getting the tomatoes transplanted was an ordeal. I thought perhaps I could grow them in pots if I used large enough pots. After some research, I went with 5 gallon pots. I knew this would be small, but perhaps if I watered them often enough, it would be fine.
Potting the 18 types of tomatoes went fine. Now to let them grow!
The next morning, I found a problem. The dogs love digging in the tomatoes! What the hell!

Garden status 2025-05-25: The next day, the dogs dug in the tomatoes again. A bunch of my seedlings were strewn about, so now I don't know which ones are which.
This kept happening, and then I realized it was very likely due to the bone meal I added into the mix as fertilizer. So now I need to work on dog proofing the garden I guess.
