Visiting el Museo del Prado
Wednesday we walked along the Padeo del Prado en route to the Prado Museum, home to many works by Francisco de Goya, one of the most well known Spanish artists in history.
This is the floor directory of El Corte Inglés, Spain’s major (only?) department store chain. It’s like Macy’s, but a little expanded.
Then we went to a restaurant called La Hortensia, and Terry and I both ordered giant steaks.
Many of the restaurants seem to give free shots at the end of the meal. At La Hortensia, they gave two different liquors… so Mom insisted we try them both. Somehow that turned into her doing four shots of the chocolate colored stuff.
For dinner we ate a Loving Hut, a weird vegan restaraunt that also happens to be in San Francisco. Tim was surprised I had even heard of it. It’s headed by a woman known as Supreme Master Ching Hai, a spiritual leader and entrepreneur from Vietman. On the TV in the restaurants plays what appears to be their own network, and it’s reminiscent of a poor quality home shopping network mixed with elements of evangelical Christian programming.
Then, Thursday morning, we flew to Barcelona!
